 A meeting was held this morning by the Board of Directors of the Center for the Care of Students with Disabilities at Suez University, headed by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hanigel, President of the University, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ihab Shehata, Dean of the College of Education and Director of the Center, Prof. Dr. Samah Al-Saqqa, Deputy Director of the Center, and members of the Center’s Board of Directors.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the President of the University welcomed the attendees, wishing everyone success in the task of managing this important center, which comes within the framework of the unprecedented interest of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for people of determination and the importance of making it accessible to all facilities, and providing various services to them.

Hangel then reviewed with the attendees what was already implemented to the completion of the steps to open the student service center with disabilities, whether with regard to the required engineering requirements, or the material and human capabilities that are supposed to be provided, and emphasized its sovereignty that he will personally follow all the steps for the speedy completion of all implementation The required requirements, and directed quickly to communicate with the officials of the Amidst Authority to review the required to complete the opening procedures as soon as possible.

The 'President of the University' also directed the necessity of setting an appointment during the next few days to hold a meeting with students with determination from the university’s employees in his personal presence and all those involved in the matter from various colleges, whether the deans of the colleges or faculty members and workers.

For his part, Shehata and all members of the Council thanked the University President for his continued support for the center and for overcoming all problems and obstacles in order to complete the procedures for opening the center as soon as possible. The director of the center also presented some proposals submitted by members of the Board of Directors to develop the work of the center in a way that serves all employees. The university is one of people of determination, and he pointed to the university president’s emphasis on taking all these proposals into consideration and implementing them.

In light of the directives of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hanigel, President of Suez University, on the necessity of the Student Service Center for Disabled Students at Suez University participating in the sports meeting for people with disabilities in Egyptian universities in cooperation with the Youth and Sports Directorate in Alexandria during the period from November 30 to December 3, 2023, in the youth city of Abu Qir, A number of (4) male students with visual impairment participated:

A summary of the activities provided to people with disabilities in the year (2023), which took place at the Social Solidarity Unit under the auspices of the Disability Service Center at Suez University. These activities are represented in: an awareness initiative entitled “We Complete Together” to educate students about the types of mental, hearing, and visual disabilities, and a technical training workshop on “ Three-dimensional sculptural designs and artistic drawings for students with special needs, an entertaining, educational, and training trip to the Museum of Islamic Art for students with disabilities and companions of determination, a training course for students with visual impairments on using the computer, a training workshop on audio engineering, a discussion panel on providing psychosocial support for students with special needs. Special, an online training workshop for people with special needs on the feasibility study, a discussion panel on Companions of Determination, and a workshop on teaching the basics of drawing.

 

A summary of the activities provided to people with disabilities in the year (2022), which took place at the Social Solidarity Unit under the auspices of the Disability Service Center at Suez University. These activities are: a training activity to teach the Braille language, a capable camp with a difference, the “We Can Transform Disability into Energy” initiative, and a training workshop. To teach sign language, a celebration for handing over laptops, and a training workshop on the psychology of knowing color through texture for students with visual impairment.

 

 

April activities

Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Ashraf Hanish, President of the University of Suez, and under the supervision of the Student Service Center with Disabilities at the University of Suez, students with disabilities at the University of Suez participated in the presence of an online employment exhibition with professional development centers at UCCD on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 4 pm

5- Amr Khaled Sayed Hamed, again politics and economics, visual disability. 
6- Alaa Ahmed Radwan, a second policy and economy, visual disability.

  • The activities that took place in May

Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hanigel, President of Suez University, and under the supervision of the Service Center for Students with Disabilities at Suez University, students with disabilities at Suez University participated in the introductory symposium for the University Scholarship Program and the Egyptian Pioneers and Scholars Program presented by the United States Agency for International Development - on Thursday, the 23rd. May 2024 - 4 pm.

*Mirna Emad Naseem Mikhail - Second year - College of Arts - Visual disability.

  • Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hanigel, President of Suez University, and under the supervision of the Service Center for Students with Disabilities at Suez University, students with disabilities at Suez University participated in an interrogation questionnaire measuring the degree of satisfaction of university employees with disabilities regarding its activities directed at supporting them and equal opportunities.

Students with disabilities at Suez University participated in the Employment Forum Day, which was held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
The residence is located in downtown Cairo - the Greek Complex.
