Military Education

All male students of Egyptian nationality enrolled in university colleges must be enrolled in the training and teaching courses for military education. Only after successful completion of the military education course can the student obtain a bachelor's degree.

1- Promoting loyalty sense, patriotism and consolidation of the national belief of students.
2- Physical and psychological rehabilitation of the student's willingness to join military service in accordance with the different stages of recruitment.
3-Raising student's awareness of the importance of the role played by the army forces in favor of revolutionary legitimacy, particularly its role in the revolution of 25 January and 30 June.
4- Informing the student of the developmental role of the armed forces in advancing development and helping the national economy to improve.
5- Informing the student of the role of the armed forces in case of disasters.
6- Informing students of the importance of studying military history by means of documented lectures on the honorable history of the Egyptian military.
7- Training a student in some of the basics of civil defense and first aid which qualifies him to help putting out fires and save lives as much as possible.
8- Preparing the student to early adaption to military life to help him to be disciplined and committed.
9- Developing the teamwork spirit in early education stages and military displays.
10- Developing creativity spirit and scientific research through intellectual research presented at the end of the military courses.

The duration of the military Education course : 2 weeks

All students applying for military education must abide by the following instructions:

First: military uniform:

1- light blue shirt.

2- Dark blue trousers.

3- leather shoes or sneakers.

Second: the papers required for submission.

1- A copy of the national ID card.

2- A copy of the college ID.

3 -(2) personal photos.

A T-shirt and cap were provided at the university.

In the matter of military education in the secondary and higher education levels

The People's council has decided on the following Act, which they have promulgated.

Act No. 46 of year 1973 In the matter of military education in the secondary and higher education levels

Article 1:Military education is a basic subject of study in the secondary and higher education levels for students of Egyptian nationality.

Article 2:The Military Education System aims to develop military awareness among students in secondary and higher education levels, to ensure the upbringing of generations of young people eligible for military service upon their admission to military service and the performance of national missions during the war or national services ordered by the Minister of Defense.

Article 3:Military education at the secondary level comprises three classes. Higher education shall be limited to the year of study determined by the Ministry of Defense in agreement with the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Azhar Affairs.

Article 4:Military education for (male) students includes military training and military culture, and for (female) students in military culture and medical service, in accordance with the prescribed curricula established by the Ministry of Defense.

Article 5:The Ministry of Defense is responsible for planning and supervising military education.

Article 6:The Ministry of Defense liaises with the ministries and various State agencies and monitors the implementation of military education activities. The ministries and their respective interests provide the necessary assistance in this regard. The governorates also provide facilities for military education in youth and club camps and courtyards. Universities and secondary schools have priority in the use of these camps and courtyards, in accordance with the decision of the Minister of Defense.

Article 7:By a decision of the Minister of Defense, a military adviser to the Director of Education of each department and the educational department shall be appointed. The Director of Military Education at each university, the heads of universities, the deans of colleges, the director of directorates and educational departments, and the superintendent and superintendents of secondary schools are responsible for the implementation of military education schemes, with each of whom a military education officer from the faculty shall assist and replace him in his absence.
