An overview of the project:

The shortage of fresh water and poor water quality for industrial, domestic, and agricultural uses in many regions of the world, including Egypt, have attracted attention to the growing scientific and technological challenge to water purification and water production at low prices.

Membrane processes play a key role in water treatment techniques due to their advantages, including:

-The process of physical separation and non-use of chemicals.

-Low power requirement.

- Operating conditions are moderate.

- No change in status.

-Treatment of heat-sensitive materials.

The most important disadvantages of membrane operations are:

The trash accumulates on the membrane (Membrane fouling) and retracts to permeate the runoff.

Hence, " Remains the main challenge in the development of low-fouling membranes, at a quantum flow rate, finally arrive at an appropriate protocol for processing.

The main objective of this project

It is the development and assembly of a series of new quaternized chitosans (+ CS) as anti-fouling additives in membrane technology.
