As part of Suez University's strategy to strengthen its role in promoting innovation, applied scientific research, and partnerships with the industrial sector, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, announced the results of the University's analysis of its scientific output related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 9 (SDG 9), which focuses on Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

The analysis revealed that the University has made remarkable progress in producing internationally impactful scientific knowledge, with a significant increase in research possessing strong industrial application potential and technology transfer capabilities. These achievements reinforce the University's contribution to Egypt Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The University has published a total of 276 research papers in the fields of industry, innovation, and infrastructure. Collectively, these publications have received 4,070 citations, averaging 14.7 citations per paper. The University's Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI) reached 1.95, indicating that Suez University's research in this area achieves nearly twice the global average scientific impact.

Among these publications, 72 research papers were identified as having a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 4 or higher (TRL ≥ 4), demonstrating their potential to progress beyond laboratory research into development and industrial implementation.

The analysis further showed that 43% of the University's total research output in this field represents a promising scientific foundation for industrial applications, highlighting the University's ability to transform scientific knowledge into practical technologies and solutions that serve various productive sectors.

Prof. Dr. Heniegal emphasized that Suez University has experienced substantial growth in research output related to SDG 9 over recent years. The number of published papers increased from 14 publications in 2020 to 51 publications in 2025, while 40 papers had already been published by 15 July 2026, reflecting sustained and accelerated research growth.

The University's scientific publication rate grew by approximately 264% between 2020 and 2025, underscoring the success of its efforts to support scientific research and encourage scholars to publish in priority industrial and technological fields.
