Meeting of the Suez University Council under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Ali Atta, the SU President

This morning the meeting of the Suez University Council was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Atta, the SU President. It was attended by Prof. Dr. Said Hamid Abadi, the SU Vice-President for Community Service and Environment Development, the Deans of faculties, and Council Members.

At the beginning of the meeting, the SU President welcomed the members and wished everyone success.

The President thanked His Excellency Prof. Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Sharkawi, the SU Former President for his sovereignty over previous years. Atta also thanked Prof. Dr. Abdel-Atti Lachin, the former Vice-President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, as the sector has undergone significant development in previous years.

As well, the Board's agenda was reviewed by the President of the University, who reviewed the reports of various faculties on preparations for the summer semester examinations, which are scheduled to begin next Saturday, September 2.

The Council also reviewed all the measures taken by the faculties to receive the new university year, both the readiness of the auditoriums, halls, various laboratories, and workshops. The Council also reviewed a report on the procedures for the readiness of university dormitories to welcome students’ expatriate from the city of Suez.

Furthermore, the SU President also drew attention to the need to hold a series of seminars and meetings with students within the University's plan to raise awareness of various societal issues such as addiction and its dangers both to the individual and to society, as well as violence against women, freedom of religious belief and other societal issues.

Moreover, the Council approved the awarding of some scientific titles to a number of staff members of the University as follow:

Award of a scientific title to a professor's post to each of the following:

Dr. Abdelazim Mahmoud Abdelaal of the Faculty of Petroleum Engineering and Mining.

Dr. Niazi Mohamed Abdul Razek of the Faculty of Arts.

Award of a scientific title to an assistant professor's post to each of the following:

Dr. Ahmad Al-Rubaye Gnaidy of the Faculty of Engineering.

Dr. Mohamed Fawzi of the Faculty of Medicine.

PhD awarded to a number of researchers in the faculties of petroleum engineering and mining, commerce, and politics and economics.

Master's degree awarded to a number of researchers in the faculties of petroleum engineering and mining, and education.
