The SU President on a visit to the South Sinai Governorate

This morning, General Staff of War/ Khaled Fouda, the Governor of South Sinai, welcomed Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Atta, the SU President. He was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mohamed Hanigel, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Adviser to the President of the University. It was attended by Dr. Ines Samir, the Deputy Governor.   

At the beginning of the meeting, Fouda congratulated the President of the University on his assumption of the presidency of Suez University during the current period, wishing his sovereignty and all the University's staff success and progress.

The Governor also appreciated the University's efforts and its positive participation in the overall development process in the South Sinai governorate through the construction of a branch of Suez University in the governorate. The meeting followed up on the latest developments in the establishment of the university branch in South Sinai, which will be of great importance to achieve broad development on it.

Furthermore, the SU President inspected the construction work of the University branch. The President stated that the branch of Suez University in Abou Redis is the first branch of a government university in South Sinai, It costs 1.3 billion pounds for the first phase, and the university branch is located on 100 acres for the two phases: the first phase includes faculties (Education, Arts, Science, Commerce), while the second phase includes faculties (Medicine, Dentistry, Physical therapy, Pharmacy, Nursing, Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Technology, Fish Resources, Languages and Translation, Desert Agriculture and Food, Design and Arts, Veterinary Medicine, Computing and Artificial Intelligence) as well as the establishment of a university hospital to serve the Sinai Peninsula, as well as other buildings (University administrative building, central library, conference hall, student's university dormitory, staff housing buildings, Olympic sports complex, cafeteria, and restaurant).

Atta explained that this project is one of the major projects that the former President of Suez University Prof. Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Sharkawi. Moreover, Atta thanked His Excellency for this extra effort. Atta also noted that the State's great interest in Sinai's development through attention to higher education projects is aimed at meeting the growing demand for university education, providing outstanding educational opportunities for the youth in South Sinai governorate, and responding to the needs of different sectors of society; With regard to the specializations required in the overall development process and the provision of employment opportunities for Sinai's children; To improve citizens' economic, social and cultural standards.
