About the SU Faculty of Physical Therapy

The SU Faculty of Physical Therapy is an Egyptian government faculty under the University of Suez and aims to graduate physical therapy professionals capable of diagnosing and treating patients in natural and physical ways, developing and maintaining movement, and returning them to their maximum and functional capacity at all stages of life. Within the framework of meeting the needs of the Suez governorate and neighboring territories and their need for physical therapy specialists and achieving a comprehensive and integrated healthcare system, the SU Faculty of physical therapy was established.

History

Ministerial Decree No. 1810 was issued in 2019 establishing the Faculty of Physical Therapy within the faculties of Suez University and adding it to the executive regulation of the law on the organization of universities. The decision of the Supreme Council of Universities at its session was issued on 21/7/2020 approving the annexed rules of procedure of the Faculty of Physical Therapy – Suez University (bachelor's degree) in the accredited hours system.

  • Vision of the faculty:

Preparing graduates in the field of physical therapy with high academic, practical, and professional competence through continuous learning and training so that the SU Faculty of Physical Therapy becomes a leader in the profession of physical therapy at all local, regional, and international levels.

  • Mission of the faculty:

Graduate physiotherapists with a special scientific level and outstanding professional performance within the framework of high professional ethics through distinguished educational programs and creative scientific research to serve the community.

Study System

- The faculty's study system is the Accredited Hours System

- The duration of study at the Faculty of Physical Therapy is 6 years, divided as follows:

- First and second year: academic study, in which courses are studied in the departments of basic sciences and biotechnology.

- The third, fourth, and fifth years of the clinical study, in which the courses of the rest of the departments are studied, in addition to the year of excellence or the year of training, in which training takes place in a hospital of the Ministry of Health for a full year of 12 months until the graduate acquires full experience into the labor market.
