Dean of the faculty

Prof. Dr. Ihab Al-Sayed Shahata

The Faculty of Education is one of the oldest faculties of Suez University, which was previously affiliated with the University of the Suez Canal; The Faculty of Education was established in 1981/1982 with the following divisions: "Arabic Language and Islamic Studies, English Language". The Division of "French Language" was added. It then took over to include the Basic Education Division in addition to the General Divisions students, who graduated as teachers at the preparatory and secondary levels.

At the beginning of the university year 1995/1996, the following scientific departments and divisions were opened: "Mathematics, chemistry, physics, biological and geological sciences", and postgraduate studies were also opened in the same year.

  • First: the vision and mission of the faculty:

The faculty's vision is that it is an academic educational institution that promotes educational knowledge and its applications to serve the national and international community in general and the community in the Canal and Sinai governorates in particular. It is therefore working to develop education at all levels; To achieve inclusive and sustainable community and national human development in communication with the Arab and foreign world.

As well, its mission is to build perceptions and take measures for the formation of educational personnel and the development of education at all levels, in cooperation with the faculties of the University, the Directorate of Education of Suez, its schools, and other private schools in the governorate, as well as all relevant bodies such as the Ministries of Culture, Information, and Youth.

From this main message, direct tasks are to form a continuous teacher through the preparation of a distinguished teacher before the service, Professional development during it, and promotion of educational research to help produce educational knowledge, Developing policies and programs that serve society and its development, whether through scientific consultation, or research, to study and solve the problems facing the nature of society in the Canal and Sinai governorates, Which varies between the desert and agricultural environment and fishing areas in the Gulf of Suez, petroleum and cement factories, and other urban renaissance with its development projects.

In light of the faculty's vision and mission, its strategic objectives include those relating to postgraduate studies and scientific research, namely:

1- Adopt innovation and creativity; With the aim of continuous development and improvement, accepting new ideas and opening to the world locally and internationally.

2. Achieving and documenting work to emphasize the link between the faculty and society in compliance with the duties defined by the special roles of institutions and individuals.

3. Attention and utilization of feedback to improve and develop the faculty's outputs.

4- Attention to applied scientific research that promotes civil society and the development of environmental affairs.

5-Research and studies address problems that hinder the educational process at different stages, as well as scientific solutions to societal and environmental problems; This requires the development of educational curricula and programs and is consistent with national goals.

  • Third: Scientific degrees

The Accredited Hours Regulation was applied in the academic year 2022/2023, whereby Suez University is provided at the suggestion of the Faculty of Education Council a bachelor's degree in the accredited hours system in the following programs:

The Child Education Teacher's Program is, and the Bachelor of Science and Education degree is provided with the specialization of raising a child.

- Bachelor of Arts and Education specializes in Arabic language and literature.

- Bachelor of Arts and Education specializes in English language and literature.

- Bachelor of Arts and Education specializes in social studies.

- Bachelor of Science and Education specializing in the education of mathematics.

- Bachelor of Science and Education specializing in science.

The grades are provided:

- Bachelor of Science and Education specializes in mathematics.

-Bachelor of Science and Education specializes in chemistry.

- Bachelor of Science and Education specializes in physics.

- Bachelor of Science and Education specializes in biological sciences.

- Bachelor of Science and Education specializes in geological sciences.

Special education teacher.

- Bachelor of Arts and Education specializes in Arabic for disabled people.

- Bachelor of Arts and Education specializes in English for disabled people.

- Master of qualitative disciplines, Bachelor of Science and Education, specializes in education technology.

- Bachelor of Science and Education specializes in art education.

Postgraduate programs:

The accredited hours regulation was applied in the academic year 2010/2011, whereby Suez University provides the following degrees at the suggestion of the Council of the Faculty of Education:

1. General Diploma in Education:

The general diploma in education aims to prepare students who are graduates of non- fundamentals university faculties to serve as teachers in middle and high schools.

2. Professional Diploma in Education

The professional diploma aims to prepare graduates of faculties of education scientifically and professionally in one of the specializations offered by the faculty:

    1. Adult education.
    2. Learning disabilities.
    3. Raising the child.
    4. Compensatory education and behavioral modification
    5. Educational reform.
    6. Psychological counseling.
    7. University and higher education.
    8.  Education curricula and programs.
    9.  Quality of educational systems and academic accreditation.
    10. Teaching methods of one of the subjects.
    11. Contemporary higher education systems.
    12. Methods of teaching physics in English.
    13. Systems of quality and educational accreditation of contemporary education systems.
    14. Methods of teaching chemistry in English.
    15. Educational administration.
    16. Methods of teaching mathematics in English.
    17. School administration.
    18. Methods of teaching biological and geological sciences in the language English.
    19. Education policies and planning.
    20. Methods of teaching physics in French.
    21. Methods of teaching chemistry in French.
    22.  Preparing the specialist of talent and creativity.

3. Special Diploma in Education:

The special diploma in education aims at preparing students and enabling them to do basic educational research in the specializations of the educational department in which they enroll, and the specializations offered by the faculty.

They are educational fundamentals, child education, comparative education, educational management and policies, educational psychology, mental health, curricula, teaching methods (specialization), education technology, and special education.

4. master’s degrees in education:

The master's degree in education aims to prepare researchers in one of the following educational disciplines: pedagogy, child education, comparative education, educational management and policies, educational psychology, mental health, curricula, and teaching methods (in the field of specialization), education technology, and special education.

5-Doctor of Philosophy in education:

Ph.D. in education aims at preparing faculty members and researchers in one of the following educational fundamentals disciplines; This enriches educational and research knowledge: educational fundamentals, child education, comparative education, educational management and policies, educational psychology, mental health, curricula, and teaching methods (in the field of specialization), education technology and special education.
