Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mohamed Ahmed Henijal, Dean of the Faculty.

About the faculty

The Engineering Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities approved the proposal of Suez University to establish the Faculty of Engineering and the Republican decision to approve the establishment was issued in 2017.

The study has been started in the SU Faculty of Engineering in the academic year 2018-2019 in accordance with the ministerial decision in 2018.

The faculty has many high-quality laboratories, workshops, training halls, terraces, teaching halls, and seminar and conferences halls to accommodate the requirements of students and the educational and training process. All these human abilities and possibilities are used to serve the educational and research process.

The SU Faculty of Engineering programs aim to provide students with the skills and abilities necessary to solve and address design, operational, and administrative problems to meet the needs of the community and fulfill its aspirations. This is achieved through a comprehensive and ambitious educational program based on the theoretical bases, practical applications, and the development of oral and editorial communication skills, as well as the development of computer skills and applications and practical training in the practice of the profession. The programs also aim to prepare graduates to work in the engineering profession of different fields both in and outside society in keeping pace with scientific development.

The vision of the faculty

The SU Faculty of Engineering seeks to be one of the best faculties well-known for pioneering regionally and internationally in engineering education and scientific research through unique academic specialties and programs that meet the needs of the community and contribute to sustainable development.

The Faculty Objectives

Engineering is a profession in which knowledge of basic sciences (mathematics, physics, chemistry, etc.) applies as well as knowledge gained through engineering study, experience, and practice in order to develop and innovate methods, machines, and devices for the optimal use of nature's materials, resources and forces for the benefit of human society. Therefore, through its scientific departments, which cover most of the disciplines needed by the labor market, the faculty works to achieve the following objectives:

1. Exploit all the potential of the faculty to teach students the basics and techniques of engineering sciences and acquire the skills necessary to carry out their future practical tasks using everything that exists and is new in their field of engineering.

2. Preparing a graduate capable of applying engineering sciences and methods in practical life.

3. Preparing a graduate capable of deciding and dealing with crises.

4. Preparing a graduate who is familiar with the means of modern technology and information technology and how to deal with them.

5. Preparing a graduate capable of competing in the labor market under the new and changing conditions of the international community.

6. Preparing a graduate capable of learning and working with new technologies.

7. Supporting and providing postgraduate students with all possibilities to understand and acknowledge modern concepts to develop and create modern ways and expand the basic knowledge base.

8. Creating a broad base of specialists, encouraging applied scientific research, and conducting innovative research in engineering disciplines.

9. To provide government agencies, factories, and civil and investment society with all new and sophisticated engineering disciplines to serve the development plans of the country in general, and especially the Gulf of Suez region, the Red Sea, Sinai, and the Suez Canal axis.

10. The Faculty of Engineering cadres provide engineering consulting and expertise to companies and factories in the industrial zone of the northwest Gulf of Suez, the Red Sea, Sinai, and the axis of the Suez Canal specially and Egypt in general, to solve many applied problems they may encounter in the engineering fields.

11. Participation in the training of technical and engineering personnel of the country sectors and society to develop and enhance their performance.

12. Interact internally and externally with the latest studies, research, and engineering innovations by participating in international and local conferences and holding workshops, seminars, and conferences with the faculty.

13. Exchanging experiences and benefits through the conclusion of contracts and agreements with local and international scientific and practical bodies and institutions.

14. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the University's faculties and facilities.

15. Contributing to the acceleration of production with modern methods and techniques at the university level and its units as well as at the state and regional levels.

Engineering Studies and Services Centre

This center was approved as a special unit under the supervision of Suez Engineering in accordance with the decision of the President of the Supreme Council of Universities No. 118 of 2021. The Center aims to serve Suez University and others in the fields of civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and cadastral works and related laboratory and research tests associated with all the faculty's departments and the necessary feasibility studies and statistical analyses through:

• Preparation and implementation of training courses for the University and others.

• Providing engineering consultations to the University and other government agencies or civil society.

• Undertaking engineering scientific research in the fields of the Center's work.

•Holding seminars, scientific conferences, and workshops in engineering fields with Egyptian, regional, and international universities.

Modern Construction and Licensing System:

The SU Faculty of Engineering is the official in the system of building licenses in Suez, where the faculty issues licenses in the modern construction system by reviewing the code of building requirements and reviewing construction and architectural drawings.

Faculty staff members of the Civil Engineering Department of the faculty examine and review the files and drawings of construction and architecture and complete the work to extract the permits required for citizens applying for permits based on the level of different districts within Suez.
