  • The mining branch has two departments (mines-metals).

In 1965, the institution bylaw was modified to be five years system to get the engineering bachelor’s degree.

In 1966, UNESCO supervised the institution and provided it with the latest equipment, tools, workshop machines, and foreign professors for teaching as well as processing the laboratories and sending scientific missions abroad. In 1976, Suez Canal University was established, and the faculty of Petroleum and Mining was incorporated under the name of the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering. The Department of Geoengineering was established in the 80s. As development continues, the faculty now has five departments:

-Petroleum Engineering Department.

-Petroleum Refining and Petrochemical Engineering department.

-Metals and Materials Engineering department.

- Mining Engineering department.

- Geological and Geophysical Engineering department.

in addition to:

  • Science and Mathematics department (to educate the Basic Science).

In 2006, a new curriculum program with a credit hours system was established under the name of Engineering of petroleum exploration and Production.

In 2012, Suez University was established, and the Faculty of Petroleum Engineering and Mining was joined. In 2019/2018 a new study regulation was approved with the Communicate Hours System.

The name of the Department of Mine Engineering was changed to the Department of Mining Engineering

In the academic year 2024/2023
