The SU Faculty of Medicine Organizes a Medical Convoy within the Presidential Initiative 100 Days of Health - Conducting 58 cardiac catheterizations and eliminating patient waiting lists in Qena governorate

The SU Faculty of Medicine organized a medical convoy to contribute to the elimination of waiting lists for cardiac catheters in Qena governorate in cooperation with the Directorate of Health and Population in Qena, under the initiative of Egyptian President El-Sisi, 100 health days, to end waiting lists for critical operations and surgical interventions, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population. It was at the request of the Head of the Medical and Urgent Care Sector of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saafan, with intensive guidance from Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Atta, Acting President of Suez University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdel Rahman al-Tahan, Dean of SU Faculty of Medicine.

The SU President stated that the convoy had been able to perform 58 cardiac catheters whether diagnosis, treatment and the installation of pharmaceutical stents and balloons, thus making the waiting list for cardiac catheters operations in Qena governorate reached zero, thanks to the effort of the doctors of the SU Faculty of Medicine.

Atta also explained that the University's desire to participate in such presidential initiatives stems from the deep belief in the importance of the service role of the University both within and outside its regional surroundings, as well as the radical and rapid solutions offered by these initiatives to many of the problems facing citizens.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Abdel Rahman Al-Tahan, Dean of the SU Faculty of Medicine, thanked SU President Prof. Dr. Ali Atta for his 24/7 follow-up to all caravan details and provides all aspects of support to overcome all obstacles to its success. Al-Tahan noted that the SU Faculty of Medicine has already participated in organizing several medical caravans at the level of the Suez Governorate, noting the participation of the faculty cadres in the 100 Presidential Health Day initiative. It is an activation of the faculty's mission, which seeks to deploy various health services in society and to invest its material and human potential to achieve this lofty mission.

It is worth mentioning that Cardiac and Catheter Consultants Dr. Mohamed Hamza Cabil and Dr. Islam Al-Manyawi were included in the medical team with Dr. Dean of the faculty.
