Within the framework of the "Save it, Enlighten it" (Wfrha Tnwrha) initiative launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, led by Prof. Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, and Suez University, headed by Prof.Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, SU President, announced the initiative's active participation, confirming its role in supporting the state's efforts to rationalize energy consumption and rely on renewable and alternative energy sources.

The university president stressed the importance of instilling a culture of sustainability among students, as they are the future generation capable of leading change towards a more aware and responsible society.

This can be achieved by adopting several positive practices in this regard, such as:

- Turning off lights and electrical appliances when leaving rooms and offices.

- Using energy-efficient (LED) bulbs instead of traditional ones.

- Relying on natural sunlight as much as possible during the day.

- Using air conditioners wisely and setting them to moderate temperatures.

- Reducing reliance on fuel by encouraging public transportation or bicycles.

- Supporting renewable energy projects such as solar and wind power, as well as participating in related university activities.

- Extending the initiative to the wider community.

The university emphasized that the initiative is not limited to the campus alone but represents a general call to adopt rational energy-consumption behaviors across society, from homes and institutions to factories and government agencies. Cooperation between universities, civil society, and the private sector is the cornerstone for achieving sustainable development goals.
