On the sidelines of the Supreme Council of Universities meeting hosted by Cairo University, H.E. Prof. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, witnessed the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between Suez University and Al-Azhar University. The agreement was signed on behalf of Suez University by its President, Prof. Ashraf Heniegal, and on behalf of Al-Azhar University by its President, Prof. Salama Dawood, In the presence of Prof. Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities.
The Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen academic and research cooperation between the two universities through the organization of joint scientific seminars, forums, workshops, and conferences. It also includes collaboration in leadership and entrepreneurship programs, as well as the development of students’ personal skills. In addition, the agreement covers the enhancement of career guidance programs and student services, with particular attention to extracurricular activities that contribute to shaping well-rounded university graduates prepared to meet the demands of the labor market.
In a statement following the signing ceremony, Prof. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, expressed his sincere appreciation to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for his continued support of collaborative initiatives among Egyptian universities. He noted that such efforts reflect the state’s vision of building an integrated educational system aligned with global developments.
Prof. Heniegal added that signing this memorandum with Al-Azhar University represents a strategic step toward deepening academic and research cooperation and opening new horizons for students in leadership, entrepreneurship, and skills development—thereby contributing to the preparation of a generation capable of addressing future challenges.
