As part of Suez University’s commitment to strengthening its graduate studies and scientific research system, the Faculty of Sports Sciences organized the Qualifying Admission Examination for the PhD degree. The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of the University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohamed Fahmy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ezz El-Din Husseini Gad, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. The event was organized by Prof. Dr. Wael El-Sayed Kandil, Dean of the Faculty.
The examination was attended by a distinguished group of senior professors and leading figures in sports and academia, including:
Prof. Dr. Kamal Darwish – Advisor to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Head of the Higher Scientific Committee, and former President of Zamalek SC.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sobhy Hassanein – Professor of Measurement and Evaluation and Vice President of the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation.
Prof. Dr. Hussein El-Samry – Professor of Sports Administration and former Head of the Sports Sciences Sector Committee.
Prof. Dr. Essam El-Din Metwally Abdallah – Professor of Curricula and Teaching Methods and former Vice President of Sadat University.
Prof. Dr. Galal Salem – Professor of Handball and Vice President for Education and Student Affairs at Port Said University.
Prof. Dr. Salah Mansi – Professor of Sports Administration and Vice President of the Egyptian Swimming Federation.
The qualifying admission examination represents a pivotal milestone in researchers’ journey toward earning the PhD degree. It assesses their mastery of rigorous scientific research tools, their capacity for systematic analysis, and their awareness of contemporary trends within their respective fields—thus contributing to the preparation of research cadres capable of advancing Egyptian and Arab sports.
The President of Suez University emphasized that the University places great importance on developing its graduate studies and research system, underscoring that supporting researchers and providing a stimulating academic environment constitute a fundamental pillar in preparing generations of scholars dedicated to serving the nation. He added that the Faculty of Sports Sciences has become a model of academic and research excellence.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Wael El-Sayed Kandil, noted that the Faculty of Sports Sciences has become an attractive academic destination for researchers from various universities, thanks to its advanced programs and meticulous academic supervision. He expressed his gratitude to the University President for his continuous support and visionary leadership, which affirms that scientific research is the cornerstone of advancing education and sports.
Through these efforts, the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Suez University continues its steady progress toward strengthening its leading position in graduate studies and scientific research, guided by a clear strategic vision and the integration of efforts among administration, faculty members, and researchers—remaining a pioneering beacon in the service of Egyptian and Arab sports.
