Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Henigal, President of Suez University, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ezzeldin Hussein Gad, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and in line with the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi that “Sports are a matter of national security”, Suez University took part in the Regional League hosted by Suez Canal University, with the participation of several Egyptian universities, including Suez Canal, Galala, Zagazig, Benha, Port Said, and Sinai.
Suez University competed in various sports events, securing first place in the 100-meter sprint in athletics, as well as third place in the same race. Meanwhile, the basketball team achieved second place after a strong performance and intense competition with other participating teams. These results highlight the spirit of enthusiasm and determination that characterized the contests and reflect an honorable image of the university, which was keen to represent itself with the best performance.
In a special statement, the President of Suez University emphasized that the university’s participation in the Regional League reflects its commitment to supporting student and athletic activities. He stressed that sports are a fundamental pillar in shaping the character of university students and contribute to strengthening the spirit of belonging and fair competition among Egyptian universities. He added that the university pays great attention to providing all necessary resources to enable students to achieve sporting accomplishments worthy of the name of Suez University, noting that such events embody the national vision of making sports an integral part of the strategy for building the Egyptian citizen.
