In the presence of the SU President... The Governor of Suez welcomes the Health Affairs Committee of the Council of Representatives and the leaders of the Ministry of Health

In his office, Major General/ Abdel-Majid Saqr, the Suez Governor, welcomes today a delegation of the Health Affairs Committee of the Council of Parliament chaired by Dr. Ashraf Hatem, the Chairman of the Committee. It was attended by Prof. Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Sharkawi, the SU President, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Zaki Al-Wahsh, the Deputy Chairman of the Council Health Committee, Prof. Dr. Suhair Abdel-Hamid, a member of the Health Affairs Committee of the Council of Parliament, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Taha, the Head of the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Control, Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, the  Head of Health Care Authority, Assistant Minister of Health and Population, as well as General Supervisor of Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, and Dr, Amir Talwani, the Executive Director of Health Care Authority as well as the Executive Leadership. This was conducted to follow up on comprehensive health insurance and health system developments in the Suez governorate.

Furthermore, the visit took place in the presence of Dr. Abdullah Ramadan, the Deputy Governor, a number of executive leaders of the governorate and some members of the Council of Representatives and Senate of the governorate, the Director of the Branch of the Health Care Authority in Suez, and the Director of the Health Directorate.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Suez Governor welcomed the President and members of the Committee for the Governorate of Suez. He also stressed that Suez witnessed a dramatic change in the system of health services provided to citizens after the application of comprehensive health insurance. In sedition, he expressed his pride that Suez was among the governorates of the first phase of this giant system, which eliminated years of problems in the health system and achieved a health development that befits citizens.

Moreover, He then moved to the SU Faculty of Medicine, where they were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Sharqawi, the SU President, Abdel Rahman Al-Tahan, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Hani Shalabi, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and Undersecretaries of the faculty, and Staff Members. They visited and walked between various laboratories and halls and then the delegation moved to visit the University Hospital. The SU President explained that Suez University Hospital is a great addition to the health system in the governorate, where it is set up in an area of 42 thousand meters, including 17 outside clinics and 15 operating rooms. (13 operating rooms, 2 binoculars), 260 accommodation beds, 26 emergency beds, 22 dialysis beds, 23 intensive care beds, 25 infant incubators, 6 analytics laboratories, 6 analytics rooms, and will represent a strong addition to the health system of citizens service in the Suez governorate and the university region.

The delegation of the Health Affairs Committee of the Council of Representatives and the leaders of the Ministry of Health believe in the role played by the Faculty of Medicine in graduating trained medical personnel at an advanced university hospital that promotes and supports the health system and the service of citizens in Suez governorate and neighboring governorates, as well as to follow up the governorate's preparations to begin the implementation of the comprehensive health insurance system with a number of hospitals, health units, and family medicine centers in the governorate that come within the initial phase of the implementation of the national health insurance project. This project includes the governorates of Port-said, Ismailia, and Suez, south of Sinai, Luxor, and Aswan, with steps and preliminary actions at specific intervals and timetables.
