This morning, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, held an expanded meeting attended by Prof. Dr. Sheref Fahmy acting Vice President of graduate students and research, along with Prof. Dr. Adel Amer, Director of the International Ranking Unit, and members of the Unit.
At the outset of the meeting, the University President welcomed the members of the Unit, expressing his deep appreciation for the efforts they exert in this strategic file, and emphasizing that improving the university’s global standing is a top priority for the university administration.
Prof. Dr. Adel Amer, Director of the International Ranking Unit, delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the development of the university’s position in major global rankings during the period from 2024 to 2026, highlighting the significant advances achieved in several rankings.
The University President directed the establishment of an electronic platform to serve as a centralized database and digital repository for all data required for international rankings, ensuring data accuracy and rapid accessibility, and replacing repeated manual correspondence.
The meeting also discussed the challenge of international surveys (academic and employer reputation). It was agreed to:
Accurately update databases of academics and employers.
Develop a mechanism to ensure that surveys reach the targeted groups and to encourage their participation.
To ensure the participation of all university affiliates, the University President instructed the implementation of an urgent plan that includes:
Holding regular seminars and workshops across all university faculties to raise awareness of the importance of international rankings.
Clarifying the role of each faculty member and researcher in improving the university’s ranking (through international publication and updating personal academic profiles).
Training ranking coordinators in the faculties on methods of data collection and documentation in accordance with international standards.
