The auditorium of the Faculty of Arts at Suez University witnessed a major celebration this morning on the occasion of the inauguration of the seventh and eighth seasons of the Children’s University program. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of the University; the Vice Presidents; college deans; faculty members; Prof. Dr. Reham Salama, Coordinator of the Children’s University at Suez University; the participating children; and their parents, who were keen to share this special moment with their children.
In his speech, the President of the University explained that the Children’s University program is one of the most important national initiatives aimed at developing children’s scientific and creative capacities from an early age. He noted that the university embraces this project as a natural extension of its mission to serve society and to prepare generations capable of creativity and innovation.
Prof. Dr. Heniegal emphasized that the program is the outcome of an ambitious vision adopted by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, with the support and sponsorship of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, within the framework of the Egyptian state’s vision that places human development at the top of its priorities.
He further stressed that hosting the Children’s University within the university campus is not merely an additional activity, but a clear message that the university seeks to provide a stimulating educational environment for our children—one that offers them early exposure to science and knowledge and opens wide horizons for critical thinking, research, and exploration.
Addressing the children directly, the President of the University said:
“You are the flowers of the future and the true wealth of the nation. All of Egypt holds you close to its heart and sees in you the hope for which we live. Trust that you are not alone on your journey toward knowledge; there are those who believe in you and support you until you achieve your dreams and become leaders and scientists who raise the name of your country high.”
He also praised the efforts of faculty members and those in charge of the program, extending his thanks to parents for their trust and continuous support, affirming that they are essential partners in the success of the project and the fulfillment of its mission.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Reham Salama delivered a welcoming address, affirming that the Children’s University program embodies the Egyptian state’s orientation toward investing in emerging minds and translates Egypt’s Vision 2030 into tangible reality through a motivating and safe educational environment. She noted that the celebration coincides with the inauguration of the Faculty of Energy and Environment at Suez University, sending a clear message to children that the future belongs to science, sustainability, and environmental awareness.
The participating children added an atmosphere of joy and creativity to the celebration, presenting poetry that expressed their dreams and aspirations, along with an introductory video showcasing the activities and objectives of the Children’s University, in addition to a theatrical sketch highlighting the importance of science, research, and discovery in building the future.
