Metal Research Explores Ways to Collaborate with Petroleum and Mining Engineering

This morning, Prof. Dr. Al-Sharqawi, SU President, received Prf. Dr. Ibrahim Ghayyad, Acting President of the Centre for Metal Research and Development, and a delegation from the Centre and its affiliated institutes. As part of the delegation's visit to the SU Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering, it was to discuss cooperation in the presence of Prof. Dr. Essam Ahmed Ali, Dean of the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering, and several members of the faculty's staff.

The visit aims to explore ways of cooperation and coordination between the two sides at the academic and research levels. During the visit, it was agreed to convene an expanded cooperation protocol between the University and the Center. It aims to support the bridges between academic and research expertise at the University and research and technical expertise at the Center as a house of regional expertise in the field of material research as well as integrate scientific research with practical application of the State Sustainable Development Strategy 2030.

Subsequently, the delegation, accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty, proceeded to visit the faculty, during which Prof. Dr. Essam Ahmed Ali, showed the potential of the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering, which includes laboratories, workshops, and teaching halls of high quality to cope with the needs of the labor market like training and practical and theoretical expertise. The Acting Head of the Centre also presented the Centre's potential for research devices, equipment, and semi-industrial units.

Both sides discussed ways to achieve cooperation at the academic, research, and practical levels between the Centre and the Faculty to explore the joint utilization of both sides' material and human potential for the benefit of the parties, as well as agreement to sign a cooperation protocol.

Participated in the visit, the Dean of the Institute of Advanced Materials, several heads of departments of the institutes of the Center for Research and Development of Metals, and a member of the SU faculty staff.
