The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by the screening of a documentary produced by the Suez University Media Center entitled “Suez University Tells Its Story,” highlighting the University’s most significant achievements during the recent period.
In his address, H.E. Mohamed Gibran, Minister of Labor, affirmed that his presence today reflects the Ministry’s vision of placing the Egyptian citizen at the heart of the development process, in implementation of the directives and instructions of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic. This vision is pursued through training, employment, capacity building, and linking education with labor market needs. He noted that this vision was clearly embodied in the integrated program of activities witnessed by Suez Governorate.
The Minister pointed to the inauguration of the employment forum at the Vocational Training Center, with the participation of 26 major companies operating in Suez, providing approximately 1,700 real and sustainable job opportunities for the governorate’s youth. This, he emphasized, sends a clear message that partnership with the private sector is the cornerstone for combating unemployment and ensuring job stability.
He also referred to the celebration marking the awarding of training completion certificates to 100 trainees within the Ministry’s initiative to qualify 75,000 trainees nationwide, in line with labor market requirements and in support of decent and sustainable employment opportunities. These efforts, he stressed, are part of the Ministry’s plan to develop the vocational training system and to implement the President’s directives regarding the expansion of free training grants for youth.
Minister Gibran further highlighted the Ministry’s special focus on integrating persons with disabilities into the labor market, noting the presentation of employment contracts to them during the ceremony, reflecting firm belief in their capabilities and their role in participation and production without discrimination.
In the field of occupational safety and health, the Minister announced the launch of the “Your Safety Matters to Us” initiative from Suez University, aimed at spreading a culture of prevention within work environments and educational institutions, emphasizing that safety is not merely a procedure but a way of life and a firm commitment.
He also underscored the importance of the cooperation protocol being signed with Suez University, which seeks to support training and capacity building, promote awareness of rights and duties, disseminate the principles of occupational safety and decent work, and conduct studies that serve labor market needs, thus achieving integration between the state, the university, and the private sector.
The Minister concluded his remarks by stressing the importance of continued cooperation with Suez Governorate across all labor-related files, foremost among them raising awareness of the new Labor Law No. 14 of 2025 and ensuring its implementation in companies, factories, and all establishments, in a manner that strengthens labor relations, achieves balance and stability, and supports the path of development.
In his speech, H.E. Major General (Ret.) Dr. Tarek Hamed El-Shazly, Governor of Suez, affirmed that serious work, fair wages, and proper appreciation constitute the foundation of stability and development—principles the Egyptian state is keen to entrench through its legislation and policies. He explained that the new Labor Law reflects these values by regulating labor relations on clear and just foundations that safeguard the rights of all parties and provide a safe and stable work environment that encourages productivity and diligence, thereby supporting the national economy and achieving sustainable development.
