The project also involved preparing a prayer area, allocating administrative offices and a storage room, marking vehicle lanes, establishing a car wash equipped with a drainage channel for wash water, rehabilitating the oil-change channel, preparing accommodation for drivers, and carrying out architectural modifications to add an automotive electrical workshop.
The works further comprised a comprehensive inventory of the university’s vehicles, reviewing their documentation, organizing handover and receipt procedures, monitoring fuel cards and regulating consumption rates, creating independent maintenance records, documenting all completed works, and developing an integrated database for drivers and personnel associated with vehicle operations. A job-discipline system was also implemented to ensure operational efficiency and rationalize expenditure.
The University President affirmed that the rehabilitation of the Mechanical Fleet Headquarters is part of a comprehensive plan to upgrade the university’s infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of strict oversight of operation and maintenance to achieve financial and administrative discipline and ensure efficient performance. The Vice President noted that this step represents a qualitative leap in the management of the university’s vehicle fleet and in providing a suitable working environment for staff and drivers.
