Today, Prof. Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Sharkawi, the SU President, opened the third conference of presidents of Arab and Russian universities hosted by Sharjah University, held over two days, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Union of Arab Universities. This was attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Hamid Al Falasi, Minister of Education of the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Universities, Dr. Victor Antonovich Sandovenchy President of Moscow State University Lomonosov, Russian Federation, a number of Ministers of Education of Arab States, presidents of more than 60 of Russia's largest universities, presidents of 7 universities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and more than 150 presidents and representatives of Arab universities belonging to 21 Arab States.

Prof. Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Sharkawi, the SU President, stated that this conference reflects trends affirming the importance of opening the prospects for cooperation between various academic institutions from different countries of the world, given the positive outcomes of international cooperation in raising the levels of various institutions concerned.

Sharkawi also noted that one of the objectives of this Conference is to provide dialogue and cooperation mechanisms for the development of partnerships in scientific research and technology, as well as academic programs; This is done through the signing of several cooperation conventions and protocols between the various universities.
