Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, announced the continued inclusion of Suez University in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, achieving the 10th place among Egyptian universities. On this occasion, he extended his heartfelt congratulations to all members of the university community—faculty, staff, and students—on the announcement of the 2026 Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) results, which confirmed that Suez University has maintained its global standing for the third consecutive year within the 1001–1200 band worldwide, and ranked 10th locally among 36 classified Egyptian universities (third tier locally).
Prof. Dr. Heniegal emphasized that this achievement reflects the significant efforts made by the university to enhance its academic and research standing. He noted that it is the result of the dedication of faculty members and researchers in supporting high-quality scientific publications and increasing the university’s research impact both locally and internationally.
He further pointed out that Suez University continues to excel in the Research Quality indicator, achieving one of the highest scores among Egyptian universities in the same category.
In this context, the university president expressed his sincere appreciation to Prof. Dr. Adel Mohamed Amer, Director of the International Rankings Unit at the university, for his distinguished efforts in monitoring academic and research performance and analyzing international ranking indicators. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to all members of the International Rankings Unit for their diligent work and meticulous follow-up that contributed to this ongoing success.
Prof. Dr. Heniegal affirmed that this accomplishment is the outcome of the integrated efforts of all university sectors, calling for continued teamwork with a focus on improving the research and teaching environment to ensure sustainable progress in international rankings.
He concluded his statement by asserting that Suez University is steadily moving toward the future, driven by the dedication of its loyal members and a strong will to achieve leadership and excellence in education, scientific research, and community service.
It is worth noting that the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) is one of the world’s most prestigious university rankings, measuring institutional performance across teaching, research, international outlook, and industry income. The ranking is based on five key pillars: teaching quality, research environment, research quality, international reputation, and industry income, and it evaluates universities through a set of precise indicators.
In the 2026 edition, the ranking included more than 2,191 universities worldwide and serves as a key reference for students, researchers, and policymakers to identify the world’s leading educational institutions.
