This morning, Prof. Dr. Al-Sharqawi, SU President, witnessed the signing of an understanding memorandum between and by the SU Faculty of Politics and Economics and the Egyptian Banking Institute. It was attended by Prof. Dr. Said Hamid Abadi SU Vice-President for Community Service and Environment Development. The Faculty of Politics and Economics was represented by Prof. Dr. Nepal Ezzeldine Jameel, the faculty dean, who signed the Memorandum for the faculty, and Dr. Abdulaziz Nusair, the Institution’s Executive Director, signed the memorandum as a representative of the institution.

Moreover, SU President stated that this memorandum aims to qualify students and recent graduates to work in the banking sector. As well as new graduates who are qualified to start private projects produced through training programs and entrepreneurship workshops, in addition to developing different skills through various financial education training programs, as well as provide evaluation services through the latest evaluation tools and modern technology.

Al-Sharqawi also explained that the Egyptian Banking Institute was established by the Central Bank of Egypt in 1991 to become its official training arm to apply international best practices to refine the technical and managerial skills of financial and banking personnel. It is a vision to lead the institute to become a leading knowledge center for financial services in Egypt and the neighboring region through excellence in skills development, the provision of integrated knowledge services to the financial sector and contributing to the spread of financial awareness in society.

For her part, the Dean of the Faculty commended the cooperation with the Egyptian Banking Institute, as the Institute had been able to obtain international accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET) as an affirmation of adherence to international quality standards to become the first accredited training institute in Egypt, the Middle East, and North Africa region which will benefit our students by transferring many practical experiences that will have a great impact on their abilities in keeping pace with the demands of the labor market.
