Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, the flag salute ceremony was held this morning to celebrate the start of the 2025/2026 academic year. The event was attended by the university’s vice presidents, deans, faculty members, staff, and both new and returning students.
The day began with the flag salute led by Lt. Col. Islam El-Sakka, Director of the University’s Military Education Department, followed by the national anthem amid great enthusiasm from all present.
Prof. Dr. Heniegal welcomed the audience—especially the new students—emphasizing that this gathering was not merely an administrative or ceremonial tradition but a living embodiment of belonging and loyalty. He affirmed that the university is not only a place of study but also a soil for renaissance, a field of excellence, and a platform for leadership.
He highlighted that the remarkable progress in Egypt’s educational system, particularly in higher education, is the result of conscious political will and the ambitious strategic vision of the Egyptian state under H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who has placed education at the forefront of the New Republic’s priorities, believing that building the human being is the first pillar of nation-building. The expansion of universities, infrastructure development, curriculum modernization, and sustained support for scientific research and innovation are a direct reflection of this presidential commitment.
Prof. Dr. Heniegal expressed deep gratitude to President El-Sisi as the leader of Egypt’s journey of construction and development and extended appreciation to H.E. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, for his pioneering role in aligning higher education with labor-market needs, fostering innovation, and enhancing global competitiveness.
