This morning, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, welcomed in his office the team from the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) as part of their visit to accredit the Central Laboratory at the Faculty of Fish Resources according to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards. Present at the meeting was Prof. Dr. Osama Khalil Qaddour, Dean of the Faculty and Project Director. The accreditation team included:

The President of the University stated that the University’s commitment to accrediting its central laboratories is an important step within the framework of the Egyptian state’s interest in integrating the university with civil society, as the laboratory will provide its services to all sectors concerned with accredited testing in accordance with the standard.
He further explained that this accreditation comes as part of the University’s dedication to implementing the pillars of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, launched in March 2023 by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. He also noted that the University’s commitment to accrediting its programs reflects its steady progress toward improving Suez University’s global ranking.
Prof. Dr. Heniegal emphasized that this visit is part of Suez University’s ongoing efforts to entrench a culture of quality and institutional accreditation, a pivotal step that reflects the University’s commitment to applying the highest internationally recognized technical and organizational standards.
He also pointed out that this visit is an extension of the University’s efforts to strengthen integration between higher education institutions and civil society, through providing specialized and accredited laboratory services to all relevant bodies, thereby enhancing confidence in the University’s research and applied outputs.
It is noteworthy that the two-day visit included the committee’s practical observation of testing procedures and its review of the files and documents related to technical application and quality management within the laboratory. In the closing session, Prof. Dr. Heniegal praised the project team — including the Project Manager and all members — for their dedicated efforts during the visit and throughout the preceding period of preparation and establishment of the laboratory .
