As part of its ongoing commitment to instilling the values of citizenship and national awareness among its students, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, the university participated today in the Senate elections. The student group “Students for Egypt”, led by Dr. Ahmed El-Dessouky, the group’s advisor, had a strong presence and demonstrated noticeable positive activity, with the participation of university leaders and faculty members.
The day witnessed broad cooperation between faculty administrations and students, as the university provided logistical support that enabled participants to complete the voting process smoothly—from identifying polling stations to providing necessary transportation.
The University President affirmed that this initiative comes within the framework of reinforcing the university's societal role and entrenching democratic practices among university youth. He praised the students’ enthusiasm and strong sense of national belonging.
He also emphasized the importance of the measures being taken by the Egyptian state to guarantee freedom of opinion and expression, commending the efforts of the political leadership to enable citizens to take part in shaping the nation’s future through fair and transparent mechanisms.
Prof. Dr. Heniegal stated that the number of university participants today reached approximately 1,350 individuals, including faculty members, university staff, students, and employees of the Arab Contractors Company, which is implementing some of the university’s projects.
This participation represents a step in an ongoing educational journey aimed at building an aware and active generation capable of taking positive stances on national issues and obligations.
