As part of efforts to enhance political awareness among university youth, and under the patronage and participation of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, alongside the Vice Presidents, Deans of the faculties, and faculty members, the university witnessed an active involvement from students of the "Students for Egypt" group, under the supervision of their advisor Dr. Ahmed El-Dessouky, in the Senate elections. This initiative aligns with the university's broader mission to instill values of citizenship and national belonging.
President Heniegal announced that over 1,500 students, staff members, and faculty from Suez Governorate participated in the electoral process. The university provided significant logistical support, including assistance with obtaining national ID numbers, identifying polling locations, and offering group transportation from the university to polling stations over the two days of voting.
In his statement, Heniegal emphasized that this participation reflects the university's commitment to its societal role and to promoting democratic values and the exercise of electoral rights. He praised the students and their organization for contributing positively to this initiative.
The university president also highlighted President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s guarantee of freedom of opinion and expression, affirming that this guarantee empowers citizens to freely and fairly choose their representatives and supports the evolution of political life in Egypt.
The university's participation is part of an ongoing educational plan aimed at raising political awareness among students and encouraging them to take responsibility for their country through active engagement in national events.
