As part of Suez University’s commitment to raising political awareness among its students and preparing a generation of educated and informed youth who are conscious of their national issues—thus promoting political understanding and nurturing future youth leaders—a group of students from the "Students for Egypt Family" at Suez University visited the Egyptian House of Representatives.
The visit was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, and supervised by Prof. Dr. Ezz El-Din Husseini, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed El-Dessouky, faculty advisor for the "Students for Egypt Family" at the university. The visit came in response to a kind invitation from MP Afaf Zahran, Member of Parliament representing the Suez Governorate.
During the visit, the students went on an introductory tour through various chambers and corridors of the Parliament building. The delegation toured the Pharaonic Hall, the museum, and the library. They received a comprehensive explanation from Dr. Oloom Hameda, Director General of the Technical Office of the Secretary-General of the Parliament, on the history of parliamentary life in Egypt, which spans over 150 years. The students also watched a documentary film on the history of Egyptian parliamentary life since 1866.
The visit also included a meeting with Counselor Ahmed Manaa, Secretary-General of the House of Representatives. The students attended part of the general session from the main hall's gallery, where they were warmly welcomed by Counselor Hanafi El-Gebali, Speaker of the House, who extended his best wishes to them on behalf of himself and the esteemed parliament.
In turn, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of the University, expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude on the university's official page to all those who organized the visit. He emphasized the importance of enhancing student participation in public life and raising their awareness of the vital role played by constitutional and legislative institutions. He affirmed that this visit aligns with the university's vision to prepare young leaders capable of contributing to nation-building and fulfilling their societal responsibilities.
