As part of his ongoing follow-up on the quality of medical services provided at the Suez University Hospital, and in response to the high turnout of over 2,000 citizens at the outpatient clinics, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of the University, conducted an inspection tour of the outpatient clinics this morning to closely monitor operations and take all necessary measures to ensure citizens’ comfort. He was accompanied by the university vice presidents, deans of faculties, faculty members, and senior administrative officials.
During his visit, he listened to the opinions and comments of patients and their families regarding the level and quality of services they receive during their healthcare experience.
The outpatient clinics at Suez University Hospital witnessed a heavy turnout of citizens on the second day of operation, receiving 2,119 citizens who underwent medical examinations across 17 clinics today.
Several hospital visitors expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the medical staff, emphasizing that they and all residents of Suez are eagerly awaiting the full operation of the university hospital. They are optimistic about the positive impact this will have on the level of healthcare services in the governorate.
Prof. Heniegal instructed the provision of 500 chairs for citizens inside and outside the building. He also decided to increase the number of ticket counters to five, each staffed by two employees, to facilitate access for citizens and reduce crowding. Additionally, he ordered the provision of 15 wheelchairs to support people with disabilities, the elderly, and patients with mobility issues. He also directed that the external gate be opened to receive citizens starting at 8:00 AM on working days.
The President of Suez University stated that the goal is for the university hospital to include 360 beds in total. The outpatient clinics, which represent the first phase and were inaugurated yesterday, currently include 64 beds. He pointed out that the hospital will operate like a miniature hospital, providing various surgical procedures, dialysis services, and specialized departments such as gynecology and obstetrics, neonatal care, and vascular surgery, across 20 medical specialties, in addition to radiology and laboratory services. Simultaneously, the university is moving forward with the second phase, which will include approximately 300 beds, inpatient facilities, and intensive care units.
Prof. Heniegal also affirmed his commitment to meeting patient needs and improving the hospital’s operational system. He indicated that the university administration is implementing several new measures, including enhancing the medical staff, updating medical equipment, and improving the patient reception environment to ensure a more comfortable and efficient treatment experience.
At the end of his visit,
His Excellency emphasized the importance of cooperation between medical and administrative teams to ensure the provision of comprehensive healthcare services, affirming that the university will continue to support the hospital with the necessary resources to achieve the highest standards of medical care.
