Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ezz El-Din Al-Husseini, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and in line with Suez University's commitment to fostering social and humanitarian values among its students, the “Students for Egypt” family at Suez University organized a visit to 57357 Children’s Cancer Hospital, led by Dr. Ahmed El-Dessouky, the faculty advisor of the student group.
Prof. Dr. Heniegal, the University President, stated that organizing this visit by the “Students for Egypt” group is not merely a social activity, but a manifestation of deep-rooted humanitarian values based on giving and providing psychological support to those who need it most. He affirmed that the university is not only a beacon of knowledge and learning but must also be a beacon of compassion and societal solidarity, where students and faculty extend a helping hand to those in need.
He further pointed out that this initiative stems from a deep understanding of the role education plays in shaping a well-rounded student character—one that goes beyond academic achievement to embrace social responsibility and recognize the significance of volunteer work in strengthening human connections. When our students visit the hospital, they do not merely bring moments of joy to the sick children, but they also gain invaluable life lessons—lessons in patience, hope, and resilience—far beyond what lecture halls can offer.
During the visit, the students toured various departments of the hospital and spent cheerful, entertaining moments with the children in an effort to bring smiles to their faces and provide them with emotional support during their treatment journey.
The visit also offered insights into the medical, scientific, and research efforts carried out by this remarkable institution, which stands as a leading model in delivering world-class, free healthcare, and in its pioneering role in combating childhood cancer.
The students were also keen to contribute to supporting the hospital by donating through the hospital’s official account, believing in the importance of standing by this vital institution and continuing to support its noble mission.
Sincere thanks and appreciation go to the hospital administration for the warm welcome, and to everyone who contributes to nurturing hope within this place.
