The program is held under the patronage of Prof. Ashraf Hanigal, President of Suez University, supervised by Prof. Ezzeldin Husseini Gad, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and implemented by the General Administration for Student Welfare at the university.
As part of the program, the university hosted a series of awareness seminars led by a distinguished group of preachers from the Fatwa Center at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif. A seminar was held on Tuesday, May 6, at the Faculty of Physical Education, supervised by Prof. Wael Kandil, Dean of the Faculty, while another seminar was hosted by the Faculty of Education on Wednesday, May 7, supervised by Prof. Ihab Shehata, Dean of the Faculty.
Prominent religious scholars, Sheikh Ibrahim Jad El-Karim and Sheikh Mohamed Farag Taha, from the Al-Azhar Global Center for Observation and Electronic Fatwa, participated in these events. The seminars addressed topics related to family building, criteria for selecting a life partner, and methods for unity and cohesion. The sessions witnessed significant student participation and engagement, reflecting the youth’s keen interest in these fundamental issues.
The discussions also delved into the role of Islam in preserving family cohesion and community stability. Islam emphasizes the importance of a cohesive family as the cornerstone of a healthy society, advocating for strong familial bonds founded on love and mercy. Additionally, it highlights the necessity of choosing a life partner based on ethical and religious values to ensure family stability and social solidarity.
In this regard, Prof. Ashraf Hanigal, President of Suez University, affirmed that family-related issues are of paramount importance to all stakeholders concerned with societal cohesion. He emphasized that the university plays a crucial role in spreading family and community awareness among students, aiming to instill the culture of sound family-building and reinforce humanitarian values that support societal stability.
Furthermore, the university president pointed out that the governorate of Suez recently organized a seminar titled "And He Placed Between You Affection and Mercy" as part of the growing interest in this subject, striving to achieve the noble objective of preserving the family unit. The collaboration between the university and the governorate underscores the state’s commitment to this pivotal issue and its dedication to supporting awareness initiatives that enhance family stability in Egypt.
Prof. Ashraf Hanigal reiterated that these activities constitute an integral part of the university’s awareness mission, as it seeks to elevate students' understanding and equip them with the necessary knowledge to build strong and interconnected families, ultimately contributing to the foundations of a secure and stable society.
