This morning, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Heniegal, President of Suez University, welcomed a delegation from the Sudanese Embassy in Cairo at his office. The delegation included Ambassador Omar Al-Farouq, Deputy Ambassador of Sudan, and Dr. Isam Hassan Ali, the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Ezzeldin Hosseini Gad, Acting Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs.
At the beginning of the meeting, the University President extended a warm welcome to the attendees and expressed his pleasure at this visit, which comes as part of the embassy’s efforts to monitor the conditions of Sudanese students at Suez University and to ensure their academic and living well-being.
The President emphasized the deep historical ties between Egypt and Sudan, noting that Sudanese students are not considered guests but rather are in their second home, Egypt. He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with its Arab brothers, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who has stressed the importance of consolidating relations with all brotherly nations across various fields, particularly in academic cooperation. He further highlighted the long-standing and profound ties between Egypt and Sudan, dating back to ancient history, both at the popular and governmental levels.
During the meeting, the University President presented the academic programs offered by the university, which are designed to align with labor market demands and cater to diverse cultures and nations within the region. He also expressed the university’s willingness to enhance collaboration with various academic institutions in Sudan. This commitment aligns with the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, launched by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which promotes openness to different cultures and research institutions worldwide .
