Suez University and Academy of Scientific Research organize a ceremony to graduate the first-year students of startups with an Tomoah Nursery under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research

Under the auspices of Dr. Ayman Ashour, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Suez University in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology organized a ceremony to graduate the first-year students of startups with an Tomoah Nursery. This ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdelazim Al-Sharkawi, the SU president, and Dr. Mahmoud Saqr, the president of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. The ceremony was held at the headquarters of the University of Suez.

Moreover, Tomoah Nursery is a technological nursery funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in partnership with Suez University and Cultiv Company. This nursery aims to provide successes of financing, training, and technical support and embracing a number of startups annually, be in areas that help achieve sustainability goals, create jobs and apply scientific research outputs. The first stage involved more than 65 start-ups at the filing stage. As well, they were liquidated over the course of one and a half years until the number of startups and serious companies reached 10 (Smart agriculture, Internet of stuff, mobile applications, recycling, and provision of local equipment with global specifications and other fields).

Furthermore, the SU president expressed his pleasure at the success of the first edition of the nursery which will motivate the completion of other copies serving the largest number of startups with innovative and leading ideas in the region of the Suez Canal and Sinai. He also Thanked Dr. Ayman Ashour, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for sponsoring these initiatives and working to make Egyptian universities a 4G university that is interested in creativity, innovation and knowledge and embraces the thinking of startups, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development as one of the main pillars of the strategy of higher education and scientific research, to achieve Egypt's 2030 vision.

For his part, the President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology expressed his pleasure at the success of the nursery through cooperation with the University, and adopts the vision of a launching initiative as one of the national projects for the establishment of technological incubators, stressing the Academy's willingness to expand partnership and cooperation with the University in this field to be the central nursery of the University of Suez to the Canal Region projects.

Dr. Essam Ahmed, the Director of the Technological Nursery at the University, is ready to launch the second edition of the nursery "Tomoah", especially after the first edition added great value to all participants.

Caltiv's CEO noted that the launch of this version of the nursery parallels the launch of the Caltiv Fincher investment fund with an investment volume of $10 million, expressing his intention to have companies admitted to an Tomoah Nursery prioritized in the offer for evaluation by the investment committee of the company's fund.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, the agreement to complete the second edition of the program " Tomoah Nursery " was signed in partnership between the Academy, the University and Caltiv. This agreement was signed by Dr. Prof. Abdul Azim Al-Sharkawi, the SU president, Dr. Mahmoud Saqr, the head of the Academy, and Dr. Essam Ahmed, the principal researcher of the project.

It has also been announced that the new program will be open and contain a lot of development to suit the needs of the market and start-ups.
