The Department of Ophthalmology at the SU Faculty of Medicine organized today the "First Scientific Day of Ophthalmology and Surgery" in the presence of a selection of specialists in ophthalmology. It was conducted under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Said Hamed Abadi, the SU vice-president for community service and environment development affairs and dean of the faculty. 

Dr. Youssef Khalifa, Professor and Chairman of the Ophthalmic Department, at Emory University in the USA, and Prof. Dr. Ihab Ghneim, Professor and Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Port Said University Medical School with a selection of ophthalmic professors from Suez Canal University. 

Scientific Day was lectured by: 

Prof. Dr. Amr Jaballah, the Professor of Ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine at the Suez Canal University. 

Dr. Mu 'taz Salam, the lecturer in the Department of Ophthalmology at Suez University. 

The Dean of the Faculty confirmed that Scientific Day is one of the practical tools for actual scientific utilization on the ground by hosting the most prominent specialists in ophthalmology, which is one of the disciplines in which discoveries are made in treatment methods. 

As well, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hameed, the assistant lecturer of Ophthalmology at the faculty confirmed that the aim of the scientific day is to exchange experiences and bring up-to-date in the field of ophthalmology to make great use of the service of Suez people and to develop experiences among students of the Faculty of Medicine at Suez University in the ophthalmology Department. 

He also thanked the SU president, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and all faculty members for supporting the first scientific day, stressing the existence of an action plan to turn the first scientific day into a major specialized conference.
