Under the auspices of SU President, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sherif Fahmy, Acting SU Vice-President for Postgraduate and Research Affairs, and Coordination of Prof. Dr. Duaa Mohamed Sayed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, as part of the University's interest in activating and organizing the unified procurement system for medical and pharmaceutical devices and services, and in cooperation with the Egyptian Unified Procurement Authority headed by Major General Bhaaeddin Zidan, and the Digital Transformation Department at the Authority, the University organized a training program for teaching staff and employees in the medical sector, university hospital, and medical administration.

Thus, SU President, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, stated that this program has become urgent due to the near opening of the university hospital. He further stated that the activation of the unified procurement system at the University is within the framework of Egypt's Vision 2030 and the development of the health system. It aims to ensure equitable access to medical and health technology products through technological assessment based on scientific foundations and strategic efficient purchases and management of supply chain operations.

The SU President also explained that the unified procurement concept means all purchases and management of the needs of the State, government agencies, and bodies or any other entity approved by the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Authority for the Unified Procurement like medical preparations and supplies subject to the provisions of this Law.

It is worth mentioning that the concept of continuous training of all university staff is one of the University's strategic objectives, especially considering the University's frequent pace of establishing several new projects aimed at providing quality academic, research, and service education to the community.
