The "SU President" assured students that the role of educational institutions is not only to make science available in accordance with curricula and regulations but there is another sacred role that lies before us, no less important than the delivery of academic and research science. This role is complementary, but essential, in shaping students` personality in a genuine sense of thought, enlightening and properly aware of the facts that already exist on the ground, and enlightening the darkness of rumors and misinformation.
In his statement, General Staff of War/ Tarek El-Shazly, the Suez Governor, said that the victory of the October war embodied scenes of cohesion among all Egyptians. The most notable of those scenes were the events on the valiant land of Suez, where the Third Army field defended Suez and the People's Resistance men had a shoulder to them to repel Israeli aggression.
The Governor emphasized that the saga of resilience during a 100-day siege was an epic that made the enemy know who is fighting well, and that it is not about the force of armaments or materiel but about the determination, faith, and sacrifice to protect the army and the resistance men of the city, who know its abilities well and its geographical and historical significance.
El-Shazly also said that the city, which witnessed war and destruction, changed its face after 51 years of war, changed its face and its sides were filled with development and reconstruction with the efforts of its residents. It became an investor's destination and included promising economic areas supported by the 4 of commercial ports from the head of the Gulf of Suez to Sokhna, representing the diversity of the types of goods traded and replied to by ships from different destinations in Africa, Europe, and Asia.
The Suez Governor pointed out that the anniversary of Al-Nasser and Al-Azizah remained with the memory of the wreckage of each of the enemy tank’s part of each child who was perched on top of it with his friends. So now he is telling his memories to his grandchildren, to keep the tales of victory going and to live the fragrant martyrs in our hearts and minds.
His Excellency affirmed our duty to new generations to sensitize them to the real enemy and protect them from systematic brainwashing attempts and toxins on social media sites to distract them from building and belonging to their homeland's future.
During the lecture delivered by the strategist, Major General Dr. Samir Faraj, he said that Egypt was the only country that had completely liberated its territory after Israel's occupation of the Sinai Peninsula in 1967 and had not liberated any land that had been resolved on that day.
"Faraj" continued that what happened on June 9 was the most difficult day for Egyptians when the late leader Gamal Abdel Nasser announced that he was stepping down, but the Egyptian people stood behind him and supported him and supported the Egyptian state.
General Samir Faraj confirmed that the Egyptian army had been defeated in Sinai and the enemy had destroyed its forces on June 5. Egypt stood firm and continued because the great people of Egypt stood behind their armed forces and supported the Egyptian State, this is what is now taught at the University of Brussels' School of Defense, because war is not just a tank or a cannon. Now they realize in the Fourth Generation War that if they want to bring down a state, they must bring down the people because it is the people who can bring down their States and not military equipment, they study Egypt and what happened in the June setback a case study confirming this.
He added that beating and defeating the people comes by spreading rumors and false news and influencing the relationship between them and their armed forces, dividing the ranks of the people as well as the distinction between the people and the Government, and we have an experience on June 5 where the army was defeated and did not fall, resisted and fought, and its personnel won victory in several operations during the war of attrition and the State also did not fall and rebuilt the armed forces until the October victory was achieved.
He stressed that the armed forces were vigilant and were dealing quickly with any risks after June 67, and in October of that year the destroyer Eilat wanted to approach Port Said, but was attacked by Egyptian missiles and destroyed, changing the world's naval armament strategy.
General Samir Faraj recounted the Israeli commander, Colonel Shushan, commander of the destroyer Eilat on the last flight of the destroyer, where Eilat exited the port of Haifa with 100 crew members on board the students at the Naval College, and when they approached Port Said, the radar worker told him that they entered Egypt's territorial waters and became off Port Said beaches. "Enter they are defeated" and began to see the Port Said lights, summoned the Navy to show them the city on their perimeter, and was surprised to receive two rockets in a destructive section and sank in front of Port Said.
He spoke about Israel's attempt to penetrate the port of Alexandria, where it had sent human frogs to the port, which had previously closed the perimeter of the port with sensitive nets. Naval forces tasked with securing the port had learned of the presence of frogs and dropped explosive canisters, after which four human frogs floated on the surface of the water and were arrested.
The Egyptian forces learned that they had come from Haifa in the submarine "Dafar", which was 20 kilos from the port, and after the October war and the peace agreement Israel requested to search for Dafar, was out of borders, we authorized Israel to take part of it, and now it is in front of the Haifa Museum in Israel.
General Samir Faraj talked about some scenes from the October war and air battles said that enemy aircraft were more numerous and sophisticated than Egyptian aircraft, so the armed forces carried out the rocket wall, and it had a range of 15 kilos, upon learning of this, the Israeli Air Force Commander instructed all pilots not to approach the channel at a depth of 15 kilos. war leaders realized that crossing the channel would succeed and that the enemy would be unable to attack.
He stressed that the Battle of Mansoura was the longest time battle in recent history, involving 200 aircraft, including 120 for the enemy and 80 Egyptian aircraft, and lasted for 53 minutes, resulting in the shooting down of 17 Israeli and 5 Egyptian aircraft, three of which were able to survive before the plane went down.
Professor Nashwa Al-Hafi spoke about her happiness to be in Suez City, which witnessed one of the most important chapters of the struggle. She addressed media issues and their impact on shaping public awareness. She also spoke about the role and sources of the news, explaining how it is possible to manipulate the time of publishing news to serve certain agendas, which is one of the means of manipulating media aimed at misleading public opinion. It also addressed foreign countries' attempts to belie and reduce Egyptian efforts from the October victories to today. As well, she stressed that these endeavors are aimed at distorting Egypt's image and weakening its achievements.
Al-Hafi noted that social media had become a new arena for spreading lies and creating confusion, with a view to destabilizing internal security through systematic rumors. She cautioned against the danger of contextualizing false news, calling on the youth to verify sources of information and rely on national institutions for facts.
The seminar concluded with an open discussion between Al-Hafi and students, emphasizing the importance of media awareness as a wall of repulsion in the face of disinformation campaigns aimed at the stability of the nation.
At the end of the ceremony, General Staff of War/ Tarek El-Shazly, the Suez Governor, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, the SU President honored the families of a group of martyrs of duty from the armed forces and the police.
