This morning, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, the SU President, visited the Faculty of Fish Resources to witness the orientation day of old and new students. He was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ezzedine Husseini, the Acting Vice-President for Education and Student Affairs. As well, the SU President was met by Prof. Dr. Osama Kadour, the dean of the faculty, undersecretaries, teaching staff members, employees of the faculty, and students.

In his speech, the SU President welcomed the attendance and appreciated the role of the Faculty of Fish Resources as one of the university's unique and non-stereotypical faculties. The faculty was establishing in a coastal city to provide its services in the development of the fisheries resources and the development of fishermen and fishery industry.

Moreover, the SU President praised the faculty's significant development until it was able to obtain the African Centre of Excellence to be based in the faculty which has given it better potential in terms of research and scientific development. He also directed to the importance of striving more closely towards the achievement of the faculty's objectives in particular, the nature of the study is practical and field visits to various relevant locations need to be intensified.

He then talked about the national education strategy which was launched by Prof. Dr. Ayman Ashour, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Furthermore, he Referred to the themes of the University's ambitious strategy. After that, he referred to a presidential initiative sponsored by His Excellency President Abdelfattah El-Sisi of the Republic, which has several objectives that revolve around the idea of beginning to develop one's own socially, intellectually, culturally, and physically, inviting on everyone to participate in this initiative, referring to the events and activities organized by the University in this context.

His Excellency stressed that the University is not only a source of science and academic research, but also a society to qualify the youth in various fields politically, socially, and culturally, as well as the scientific aspect.

The SU President also stressed for the importance of organizing a students' conference to showcase the work and activities of the faculty students from research and student activities, in order to refine the skills of students and develop their potential by conducting actual scientific research published in journals with high impact transactions. His Excellency stressed that valuable encouragement prizes will be monitored for serious students in this work, and he also invited the university's teaching staff members to explain the importance of adopting students and their research ideas to reach this goal.

The SU President pointed out that it was necessary to adopt new methods in the teaching process and adopt means of discussion and presenting the ideas and views of students and teaching staff members, to move from the concept of education to learning and to use modern learning strategies such as brainstorming.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Dean of the Faculty welcomed the SU President and appreciated the great support that the faculty received from the University Administration. He presented a documentary on the beginning of the Egyptian Human Building Initiative conducted by the faculty based on the President's assignments to participate in our international exhibition. The faculty provided manufacturing unit products with a discount of 20:30%.
