The Faculty of Media and Communication Technology holds an orientation day to welcome the new and old students for the new academic year

In a special celebration, the SU Faculty of Media and Communication Technology organized an orientation day for its new and old students for the academic year 2024-2025. It was attended by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, the SU President, several academic leaders, teaching staff members, and students.

The celebration began with the play of the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt, followed by welcoming words delivered by several prominent figures at the faculty. The oldness of Suez City was emphasized and its role as a symbol of resilience and dignity, while noting the importance of benefiting from this historical legacy in the students' scientific process.

In his speech, the SU President highlighted the challenges and opportunities offered by the digital space to media professionals, stressing the importance of addressing false news and information scrutiny. He also emphasized that academic education is the cornerstone of preparing students to be successful in the fields of media and technology, and advised students:

“I invite you to uphold the values of belonging and loyalty, to search outside the walls of the university, to show Allah and your parents because they are the first creditors of your presence here. You should ambition to emphasize the honor of the word by considering the honesty of every information activity you have undertaken.”.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Jalal, the Dean of the Faculty of Media and Communication Technology, oversaw the need for students to invest in the education offered to them within the faculty, which includes a selection of distinguished teaching staff members, capable of preparing a generation of media professionals to keep pace with the rapid changes in the media industry.

Moreover, the ceremony saw the launch of the faculty's new visual identity, which embodies a renewed vision of creativity and excellence. An induction film was also screened that reviewed the faculty's career and outstanding achievements in preparing qualified media cadres.

Yasmeen El-Ashri, the Media and lecturer at the faculty's Radio and Television Department, hosted the events Jasmine El-Ashri. Therefore, she welcomed new students and expressed her pride in the continuous development of the faculty at all levels. She was also honored for her outstanding role in designing the faculty's new visual identity.

In the ceremony, the winners of the graduation project awards were honored. The team of the film "Two Earths" received the jury award at the 40th Alexandria International Film Festival and the team of the project "Al Dar Aman", was awarded second place in a continental competition at the Africa level.
