In the context of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, the SU President, during his visit to the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Romania, was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Sherif Fahmy, the acting SU Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Research with an inspection tour of the University and its research laboratories. They were met by Prof. Dr. André Bozate, a professor of Miner, and Prof. Dr. Damien George, a professor of geology at the Faculty of Science, a joint meeting was held to discuss cooperation between the two universities.

Therefore, on the margins of the visit, a memorandum of understanding was agreed upon between the two universities, where the SU President Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, with the Romanian side represented by Prof. Dr. Nicoletta Bupa, Vice-President of the University for Cultural Relations, Vice- President of Prof. Dr. Levio George Maha, the President of the University of Alexandru Loan Cuza within the framework of strengthening cooperation between the two universities where the agreement includes the improvement and expansion of academic and cultural relations as the basis for effective cooperation, particularly between the relevant faculties and administrations.

This visit was part of the European Union's Exchange Program for students and teaching staff members "Erasmus +". The Alexandru Ioan Cuza University at Iași City in Romanian is one of the most important and best universities in Romania. It is the first university to be founded in the State of Romania. The university was founded in 1860 by Prince Alexander John Cuza. The university includes 12 faculties, and these faculties teach many disciplines in all fields.
