As part of Suez University`s preparations for the opening of the Centre for the Care of Students with Disabilities and under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, the SU President, met this morning Prof. Dr. Azadin Husseini Jad, the Acting Secretary of the SU Vice-President for Education and Students Affairs, a delegation of the AMIDEAST Authority headed by M. Quincy Dermody, the Director of Egypt- AMIDEAST -USAID Government Grants Program. It was attended by Prof. Dr. Ihab Shahata, the director of the center and the dean of the Faculty of Education, M. Eman Ibrahim Yaro, responsible for the Department of Education – USAID, Mr. Emad Abdelmalak, Specialist in project management of USAID, Dr. Dina Helmy, the official in charge of the disability file. M. Nahla Hafni, Coordinator of the AMIDEAST Authority of Suez University, and Prof. Dr. Samaa Al-Saqqa, the Deputy Director of the Centre at Suez University.
At the beginning of the meeting, the SU Vice-President welcomed the delegation, where he gave a talk about developments within the Center and the procedures followed by the Center to serve students with disabilities. The University's preparations for opening over the next few days, and then the attendance moved to the University Theatre Headquarters to inspect its opening possibilities. The delegation subsequently moved to the headquarters of the Centre for the Care of Students with Disabilities, where all expressed satisfaction with the headquarters' high standard.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, the SU President, said that the University is part of this huge project, which was launched to support the objectives of the Ministry of Higher Education and in close cooperation with the public universities in Egypt. He also stressed that all possibilities are provided for the full exit of the opening, especially since this center serves a class of our students who deserve every care due to their special abilities.
