Suez University
On the margins of the opening of the Center for Professional Development at Suez University, the Minister of Higher Education inspects the university’s new projects.

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, conducted an inspection tour of some new sites and projects at Suez University on the margins of the opening of the vocational development center at the university. He was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Al-Sharqawi, SU President, Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning, Training and Qualification for the Labor Market, SU Vice-Presidents, and the faculty Deans.

At the beginning of the tour, the minister inspected the Faculty of Engineering and heard a detailed explanation from Dr. Ashraf Hanigel, Dean of the faculty, about various labs and workshops such as refrigeration and conditioning labs, thermodynamics and heat transfer labs, advanced welding workshop and modern CNC machines, as well as concrete lab, roads, soil mechanics and foundations, and electrical engineering department laboratories.

The Minister also inspected the fluid mechanics, irrigation, and hydraulics labs which have the largest open watercourse in Egyptian universities' laboratories and is equipped with the latest remote-control technology and realistic simulation to drive students and researchers to obtain the best results attached to the laboratory for measuring groundwater in the soil and measuring the rate of rainfall and soil leakage.

Moreover, Dr. Ayman Ashour paid tribute to the maritime engineering program and stressed the importance of cooperation with private universities in the surrounding area to create some kind of integration among academic institutions to access study programs that serve the needs of the labor market. He also commended the Center for Studies and Engineering Services and stressed the need to develop it and hire highly experienced professionals to obtain a distinguished service as well as enhance the university's resources.

During the visit, the Minister confirmed the need to contact the industrial community and develop training methods through the modern laboratories of the Faculty of Engineering that meet the requirements of technicians and engineers practically and scientifically.

Furthermore, Dr. Ayman Ashour inspected the central laboratory complex building of the Faculty of Science which is on 3607 square meter area and consists of four floors designed to be compatible with the latest lab designs and will be equipped with the latest capabilities to be one of the most important qualifications of students in the bachelor's degree for practical training, as well as the potential of the complex will be used in research for graduate students and various research projects.

Then, The Minister moved to the site of the establishment of the University's new 1,500-metre electronic testing building which consists of 4 floors and can accommodate 2000 students performing the test at the same time. It will be equipped with a central conditioning unit, as well as electrical elevators and other capabilities that correspond to the capabilities of disabled people. The Minister commended the scale of the building's achievement so quickly and efficiently.

The Minister subsequently inspected the new university dormitories, which include about 400 rooms divided into 2 buildings for about 1200 students. Building (a) was designed to include 2 dining lounges per floor on 155 square meters sufficient for 220 students per floor, and building (b) contains 2 lounges of 110 square meters per lounge, 2 gymnasiums of 84 square meters, and 2 libraries, as well as postal services and ATMs.
