On the sidelines of Egypt's hosting of the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP27, Suez University organizes several activities and events on climate change

Under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Al-Sharqawi, SU President, Suez University organized many activities and events related to the issue of climate change, on the margins of Egypt hosting the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP27, held in Sharm el-Sheikh in this November.

The university organized a scientific seminar on climate change in the presence of a group of university leaders, faculty staff members, associated staff, and students. The events covered the presentation of several lectures by university professors on the concept of climate change in terms of reasons and negative impacts, highlighting the importance of using green energy, the importance of attention to the profile of climate change to preserve the health and safety of citizens and protect property, and referring to the concept of balance that is one of the most important climate conservation factors in the world's nations.

The University also organized the Egyptian Universities Climate Change Forum under the auspices of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, last August from 22 to 23 during which, a presentation was held to discuss the latest research projects implemented by universities to counter the impacts of climate change, develop applied solutions, reduce the negative impacts of carbon, and use new and renewable energy in projects.

Suez University participated in the Climate Summit COP27 Sharm el-Sheikh, believing in its role in contributing to these important events, and using science as a means of development. Suez University participated through its delegation that consisted of Prof. Dr. Al-Sharqawi, SU President, Dr. Sherif Mohamed Fahmy, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Dr. Mohamed Hamza Professor of Marine and Environmental Sciences at the Faculty of Fisheries. During the events, a project was presented to monitor the impact of climate changes on the elements of the marine environment using a marine buoy on which sensitivities are fastened to measure the carbon dioxide, the PH temperature of marine currents, and others. The sensitivities show these measurements to a computer centered on land and use this system as an early warning to counter the deviation from natural values because of climate changes. This project was selected among the projects presented at the Climate Change Conference to showcase the activities and activities of Egyptian government universities in Galala. 

Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, inaugurated and inspected the university hall among the events of COP27 which lasts till the 18th of this November. He listened to a detailed explanation of the project and recommended that the project's applicability should be ascertained.

The Faculty of Technology and Education also organized a seminar entitled "Sustainable development and green energy to face climate change", which highlighted the importance of using green, new, and renewable energy to reduce environmental pollution resulting from the use of traditional energy means.
