Opening of the Climate Change Symposium at Suez university

Under the auspices and attendance of Prof. Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Sharkawi, the SU president, inaugurated the events of the Climate Change Symposium which was hosted by the Faculty of Arts bleacher. This event was attended by Prof. Dr. Ali Hussain Atta, the SU vice-president for education and students affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mazen, the dean of the faculty, Prof. Dr. Hala Yousry, Professor of Sociology at the Desert Research Centre and member of the National Council for Women, and M. Anaam Mujahid, the director of the administration central of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency at Suez. The seminar was managed by Dr. Nermeen Naser, the under-secretary of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The symposium was opened with a delivered speech by Prof. Dr. the President of the University to the attendance. He explains that this symposium is one of the events organized by the University to prepare the ground for the climate conference COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh next November. This is not the first activity, the University has already organized the Egyptian Universities Climate Change Forum under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ayman Ashour, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This was done last August from 22 to 23, stressing that activities and activities related to the issue of climate change will continue to be important.

Then Prof. Dr. Hala Yousry delivered a speech emphasizing the need to place climate change at the center of attention of all, both States and citizens, in view of the active and influential component of this phenomenon in humanity's future.

This was followed by a lecture by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Abu Al-Fattouh Mustafa, entitled "Climate Changes: The Concept, Causes, and Negative Impacts". Furthermore, a Professor of Natural Geography at the Faculty of Arts, explained that the concept of climate changes is ancient since Pharaonic civilization and its impact on the Nile River, as written on the walls of temples and papyrus, and that the concept of balance is one of climate conservation in Earth.
