Cooperation Protocol between Suez University and the New Suez City Authority

This morning, in his office, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, SU President, received Engineer/Asmaa Makhlouf, Head of the New Suez City Authority, as a part of signing a cooperation protocol between the University and the Authority. It was attended by Prof. Dr. Sherif Fahmy, Acting SU Vice-President for Postgraduate and Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ezzedine Husseini, Acting SU Vice-President for Education and Student Affairs, and SU Faculties` Deans.

Moreover, the SU President stated that this protocol comes within the framework of the University's strategic plan to serve the surrounding community, which is one of the most important roles entrusted to universities. It is according to the vision of the Egyptian State that required concerted action by all various entities and institutions in the State. to achieve the goals of the Sustainable Development Plan 2030.

He also noted that this cooperation determines the regulations for the organization of work and the exchange of experiences and community participation between the University and the Authority of the New Suez City. The University is competent in providing scientific, technological, engineering, and technical consultations to support decision-makers concerning development policies and projects and to study the economic and environmental feasibility that serves the development plan of the New Suez City.

In addition, Hnijal explained that one of the objectives of this protocol is to maximize the use of scientific research in the city's development and utilize the university facilities to hold exhibitions, organize events, and provide community, culture, and education services. Cooperation will also provide benefits for employees of the City Authority such as the design of professional programs and training courses in management and digital transformation.

For her part, the Head of the New Suez City Authority explained that this protocol comes within the framework of institutional development programs carried out by the New Suez City Authority in conjunction with the Institutional Development Administration of the New Urban Communities Authority, which includes activating the role of community participation with various organizations and entities, especially Suez University.
