The start of the chess tournament within the first sports festival of Suez University

The chess tournament that was launched by Suez University in the activities of the first festival, began with the full preparation of participants and qualification for the start of the competition for students.

This was within the framework of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hnijal, the SU President, and Prof. Dr. Karim Hamam, the Adviser to the Minister of Higher Education for Student Activity, who were keen to follow up on all activities carried out at the festival's events. Moreover, it was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ezidine Husseini Jad, the Acting SU Vice-President for Education and Students Affairs.

Therefore, the students play in the Swiss system. The match includes 6 tours, by compiling the highest points, as well as the winner of the tournament is decided in the last round on the final day of the festival.

The first round ended with the winning of the girls' team from Helwan, Ain Shams, Mansoura, Minya, Assiut, Tanta, and Sohag Universities, the boys' team from Sohag University, Tanta, Damanhur, Alexandria, Aswan, and Sadat City, who were winning in front of competitive universities.

The tournament will continue until the final winner is decided on the day previously specified by the festival.
