Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Sharkawi, the SU president, and the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ali Hussain Atta, the SU vice-president for education and students affairs, The Faculty of Physical Education organized the first meeting for first-year students in various faculties of the university. This was done under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Wael Kandil, the dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, in the university's playgrounds in conjunction with the Egyptian Federation for Recreational Sports and Games. It was attended by Dr. Mohammed Fathi Al-Shuwayl, the representative of the Federation, the deans of faculties, staff members, and employees of the University.

The events began with a national anthem ceremony. The dean of the Faculty of Physical Education then delivered a speech welcoming the SU president and attendance. Moreover, he explained that the daily exercise of sport makes it a way of life that affects positively the various aspects of the individual's health, social, and professional life.

In his speech, “Al-Sharqawi” expressed his pleasure at the outstanding organization of this event. He also appreciated the good role played by the Egyptian Federation of Recreational Games. He affirmed that the University has always supported student activities of all kinds in sports, cultural, artistic, and social, given the significant positive role played by these activities in building students' personalities by discovering their talents and developing these talents and potential to benefit students that are the future of Egypt.

Furthermore, the events began with a parade queue of the faculties, then reviewing freehand exercises, displaying the Egyptian Sash, after that a singing performance, and then display of the Al-Sa'adi sticks and Nubian folklore, then a distinguished show of karate sport for one of the university's students who is a different member of the program.

At the end of the day, the president presented many gifts and commemorative awards to the winners and representatives of the participating faculties with happiness and joy from all the attendees.
