On Saturday, Dr. Ayman Ashour, the Minster of Higher Education and Scientific Research, inspected a number of the SU’s new buildings. He was accompanied by Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Sharkawi, the SU president and a number of university presidents, and a group of leaders of the University and the Ministry.

The minister began his inspection tour by visiting the SU hospital, which is located in an area of 42 thousand meters, a has 17 outpatient clinics, 15 operating rooms (13 operating rooms, 2 binoculars), 260 accommodation beds, 26 emergency beds, 22 dialysis beds, 23 central care beds, 25 incubators, 6 analytics laboratories, 6 analytics rooms, which will represent a strong addition to the health system to serve citizens.

Moreover, the minister inspected the construction works of the central laboratories complex building of the Faculty of Science, which is built on an area of 36 thousand square meters. It also includes a research lab complex, bleachers, seminar rooms, other laboratories, a library, administrative offices, and a seminar hall.

Furthermore, the minister inspected the electronic testing building, which enables all faculties to conduct their exams electronically. The building has 35 examination rooms and several administrative offices, as part of the follow-up of operational plans toward digital transformation, transparency, and evaluation of the outputs of the educational process.

The Minister concluded his tour by visiting the Faculty of Media and Communication Technology. Then, he inspected seminar rooms and studios equipped with the last modern devices and cameras, as well as the library and the seminar hall, to assure the faculty’s readiness to begin the new academic year 2022/2023.

The Minister commended the completion rates of the construction and operational works that are proceeding according to the established timelines, directing the need to adhere to the quality of implementation and the necessary equipment for all new establishments according to the approved specifications.
