“Al-Sharkawi” and “Saqr” are discussing the University research plan to serve development issues in the governorate.

In implementation of the mandates of his excellency the President of the Republic, as well as the decision of the Higher Council of Universities to mandate all Egyptian universities to present an implementation plan with specific time-bound postgraduate and research programs that serve the development issues and challenges facing every region to which the University belongs geographically. This morning, Prof. Dr. Al-Sayed Abdulazim Al-Sharkawi and Prof. Dr. Abdul Atty Lashin, SU vice-president for post-graduate studies affairs, visited the office of General Staff / Abdu Al-Majed Saker, the Governor of Suez. This visit was attended by Prof. Abdullah Ramadan, the deputy governor of Suez, Mr. Khalid Saadawi, general secretary of the governorate, and Brigadier General Ihab Sirajuddin, the assistant secretary-general of the governorate.

There was a discussion of ways of cooperation and coordination between Suez University and the governorate of Suez on development issues and the challenges facing the province and the region. Moreover, among the dozens of development issues in the governorate, this meeting resulted in the adoption of three core issues at the current stage:

  • First: development of urban space, environmental conservation, and recycling of industrial and agricultural waste into economic products.
  • Second: development of fish resources in the governorate.

Third: counteracting unemployment and creating employment opportunities for youth, with continued collaboration in addressing issues requiring scientific research linebacker

The University's operational plan for scientific research in question dealt with the adoption by the projects of a set of research points covering three agreed areas, including:

Assessment of natural and human coastal geodetic hazard affecting the urban and agricultural space of Suez Governorate, recycling and use of cement, iron and steel waste, and petroleum refining in the construction and civil industries, recycling of fish waste, aquaculture, fish environment, fish fodder.

In the field of employment and youth employment, the business incubator of Suez University is also involved in identifying and marketing the most important micro-enterprises, training the youth for self-employment, and creating and operating a youth incubator in Suez Governorate
