“Al-Sharkawi” welcomes the committee of the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC) to follow up on the Solar Power Laboratory of the Faculty of Technology and Education

This morning, Prof. Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Sharkawi, the SU president, welcomed at his office, Prof. Dr. Osama Saqr, the director of the certification laboratories accreditation international project at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Wafik, the consultant of the certification laboratories accreditation international project. This meeting was attended by Hussam Eddin Mostafa Attia, the dean of the Faculty of Education and Technology, Dr. Mohamed Elshahed, the director of the Projects Unit at the university, and Dr. Abdul Hamid Rasmi, the director of the Quality and Accreditation Unit at the university. This was done at the beginning of the visit. Furthermore, the aim of the visit was to learn about the Solar Power laboratory's progress in preparing accreditation procedures from the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC).

Subsequently, the committee visited the headquarters of the Faculty of Technology and Education, where the dean of the faculty presented the technical position of the project and indicated the degree of progress statement made by the working group within the laboratory administratively and technically to obtain accreditation from the Egyptian Accreditation Council in accordance with the ISO technical standard 17025-2017.

“Al-Sharkawi” also explained the opportunities that the laboratory will provide to serve the local community, the Suez Canal axis, and the Red Sea with regard to the transformation of clean energy in line with Egypt's vision of 2030 with regard to the power axis.

In addition, the visitors showed a prototype of a 5.3 kW solar power laboratory designed and supervised by the technical expertise of the laboratory to supply clean energy to the Solar Power laboratory - Faculty of Technology and Education – Suez University Without any harmful emissions, the plant manager explained that all technical documents of the model have been prepared in a way that is easy to disseminate to the local community and follow when needed to implement similar projects in the future.

 

It is worth mentioning that the Solar Power Systems Consulting and Testing Laboratory of the SU Faculty of Technology and Education is the product of a partnership between Suez University and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's International Accreditation Labs Rehabilitation Project to reduce toxic gas emissions from electricity generation by traditional methods by supporting solar power-based projects by providing basic consultations and measurements.
